In Chaung-U, Township of Sagaing Region, so-called PDF terrorists entered and attacked a Village, and recklessly burned down residential houses, resulting in destruction of 21 residential houses.
The incident happened that, on 5 July at 04:10 AM, while security personnel were carrying out security measures in Kangyikone Village of Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region, a so-called PDF terrorist group (total number-under scrutiny) launched an attack using heavy weapons from around the Village. The terrorists then entered the Village and opened fire with small arms. In response, the security personnel retaliated, causing the terrorists to retreat. Upon inspection of the scene, it was discovered that 21 residential houses had been destroyed by fire as a result of the terrorists' arson attack, it is reported.
Security personnel are investigating the incident to take punitive action against terrorists who recklessly attacked with heavy weapons and small arms, in addition to arson attack to residential houses in a Village where innocent civilians reside, as soonest in accordance with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
