In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being 'spies,' 'informants,' or 'decoys' to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 2 January at 12:25 PM, a report stated that a male was found dead on the Monywa-Mandalay road in Myothit Ward of Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region. Upon arrival, security personnel immediately initiated an inspection of the area. As they prepared to examine the crime scene, an improvised mine previously planted by so-called PDF terrorists, exploded beneath the dead body. Consequently, security measures were reinforced around the area. Follow up investigation at the crime scene revealed that the deceased male (under investigation) was dead from severe injuries, including an open wound to the occiput, a bullet penetrating injury to his left temple, and severance of his body below the waist. The deceased was transported to Chaung-U Township Public Hospital for further examination. The cause of his death remains under investigation, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killing of an innocent civilian in the abovementioned case. These acts stem from a radicalized ideology that deems anyone holding differing views as an enemy, it is reported.
