In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being 'spies,' 'informants,' or 'decoys' to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 7 March at 6:45 AM, a report stated that a man was killed by gunfire in Ahnyin Village, Kyunsu Township, Tanintharyi Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that on 6 March at 6:45 PM, U Htay Kyi (aka) Naungto (53 years old), who lived in the village, was in his house when four so-called PDF terrorists, arrived and opened fire on him. As a result, U Htay Kyi (aka) Naungto died from gunshot wounds, it is reported.
Similarly, on 8 March at 6:05 AM, a report stated that a man was injured by gunfire in Sitharyar Village, Patheingyi Township, Mandalay Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U San Htay (57 years old), who lives in the village, was selling goods between 10th and 11th Streets when two male terrorists, arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire on him before fleeing. As a result, U San Htay sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to Patheingyi Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killings and assassinations of innocent civilians in the abovementioned cases. These acts stem from a radicalized ideology that deems anyone holding differing views as an enemy, it is reported.
