In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being 'spies,' 'informants,' or 'decoys' to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 1 March at 2:00 PM, a report stated that a man was killed by gunfire in Htanpinchaung Village of Latpatan Township, Bago Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Win Aung (52 years old) who lived in the village, was in his house when a so-called PDF terrorists arrived on motorcycles and opened fire on him before fleeing. As a result, U Win Aung died from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Similarly, at 5:15 PM, a report stated that a man was killed by gunfire in Htanpinkan Village of Taungtha Township, Mandalay Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Ko Myo Myint (aka) Min Min (37 years old) who lived in the village, was at a motorcycle repair shop located at the village entrance. At this time, two so-called PDF terrorists, arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire on him, accusing him of being a “Decoy/ Dalan”, before fleeing. As a result, Ko Myo Myint (aka) Min Min died from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killings and assassinations of innocent civilians in the abovementioned cases. These acts stem from a radicalized ideology that deems anyone holding differing views as an enemy, it is reported.
