In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being 'spies,' 'informants,' or 'decoys' to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 10 January at 11:30 AM, a report stated that a male was dead by gunfire on the Semekhone-Nabuaei road in Pinlal Village of Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Pyae Thein Oo (aka) Ko Mal (50 years old), who lived in U-daya Village of Myingyan Township, was dead from two bullet penetrating injuries to his occiput, a bullet penetrating injury to his pubes area and both ears severed during the incident. The incident was verified that on the same day around 10:00 AM, U Pyae Thein Oo (aka) Ko Mal was travelling alone on his motorcycle to Nwarkuaei Village. Upon reaching the incident site, three so-called PDF terrorists (under investigation), riding a motorcycle behind him and killed him, accusing him of being a “Decoy (Dalan)”. Additionally, the terrorists robbed his motorcycle. The deceased was transported to Myingyan District Public Hospital for further examination, it is reported.
Likewise, at 04:20 PM, a report stated that U Win Naing (54 years old), the Administrator of Nyaungpinwyne Village in Aunglan Township, Magway Region, was shot and killed by so-called PDF terrorists on the dirt road from Nyaungpinwyne Village to Nyaungpinthar Village. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Win Naing was dead from two bullet penetrating injuries to the right side of his nose and chest. The incident was verified that, U Win Naing, along with fellow villager U Mya Shwe, was returning on a motorcycle from Aunglan Town after obtaining petrol for the village. When they reached the incident site on the same day around 03:40 PM, two so-called PDF terrorists (under investigation) opened fire on them before fleeing. The deceased was transported to Aunglan Township Public Hospital for further examination, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killings and assassinations of administrative officials and innocent civilians in the abovementioned cases. These acts stem from a radicalized ideology that deems anyone holding differing views as an enemy, it is reported.
