In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being 'spies,' 'informants,' or 'decoys' to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 6 February at 11:30 AM, a report stated that a male was found dead from gunfire on the roadside near Khatlan Village of Natogyi Township, Mandalay Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that a man, approximately 45-year-old (under investigation), had died from bullet wounds to his occiput, right chin, and right armpit. The dead body was found on the roadside of Myingyan-Yaewun road milepost 25/0 near the village. The deceased was transported to Natogyi Township Public Hospital for a post-mortem examination, it is reported.
Similarly, at 7:55 PM, a report stated that a man was killed and a woman was injured by gunfire in Khunywar Village of Kyaikemaraw Township, Mon State. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Tun Oo (57 years old), who lived in this village, was at home with his family when two male terrorists (under investigation) arrived and opened fire on them before fleeing. As a result, U Tun Oo died from bullet wounds to his abdomen and left hand, while his daughter, Ma Zin Nan Wai (16 years old), sustained a gunshot injury to her left sole. She was transported to Kyaikemaraw Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killings and assassinations of innocent civilians in the abovementioned cases. These acts stem from a radicalized ideology that deems anyone holding differing views as an enemy, it is reported.
