In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being 'spies,' 'informants,' or 'decoys' to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 14 February at 12:10 PM, U Win Maung (75 years old), who lived in Sintat Village of Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region, was at home when a group of six so-called PDF terrorists arrived by three motorcycles and fire upon him, reportedly accusing him of being a “Decoy (Dalan)”. Due to these gunshot wounds, U Win Maung tragically succumbed to his injuries, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killing and assassination of an innocent civilian in the abovementioned case. These acts stem from a radicalized ideology that deems anyone holding differing views as an enemy, it is reported.
