In regions and states, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts by detonating roads and bridges, as well as dropping bombs and firing heavy arms on the non-military targets, such as Ward and Villages where innocent civilians reside.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 9 May at 05:00 AM, a so-called PDF terrorist group (total number-under scrutiny) opened fire with homemade mortars from a ditch boundary road located near Zeephyugon village towards the Village in Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region. Later, terrorists entered the village carrying small arms and set fire to living houses, in addition to opening fire on innocent villagers. As the result, seven living houses including the house of Village Administrator U Kaung Htet Zin were destroyed in the fire. Additionally, U Myint Oo, 50 years old (Father) U Saint Aung, U Zaw Lay, 43 years old (Father) U Kyi Maung, U Chan Thar, 29 years old (Father) U Kyaw Yin, U Nay Zaw, 32 years old (Father) U San Tun and U Yan Aung, 31 years old (Father) U Chit Aung, who all lived in this village, were dead from gunshot injuries at the scene, while Daw Myoe Kyin, 64 years old (Father) U Yar Thein, who lives in this village, sustained gunshot injuries and was transported to the Shwebo District Public hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are investigating the incident to take punitive action against the terrorists who recklessly opened fire with homemade mortars, carried out arson attacked on living houses and opened fire on innocent villagers, as soonest in accordance with law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
