In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by an extremist ideology of ‘Anyone with differing views is an enemy’ are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being ‘spies,’ ‘informants,’ or ‘decoys’ to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 23 December at 05:10 PM, a report stated that a male was dead by gunfire near the Sinkhyone Pagoda road in No. (7) Ward of Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Ko Aung Myo Naing (25 years old), who lived in this Ward, was present near the boundary of an irrigation ditch along the Sinkhyone Pagoda road when a so-called PDF terrorist group (number of the terrorists is under investigation) arrived in a vehicle and opened fire on him. As a result, Ko Aung Myo Naing was dead by a bullet penetrating injury on his neck, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killing and assassination of an innocent civilian in the abovementioned case. These acts stem from an extremist ideology that deems anyone holding differing views as an enemy, it is reported.
