In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include civil service personnel, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being 'spies,' 'informants,' or 'decoys' to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 26 December at 10:30 AM, U Maung Toat (56 years old), who lived in Kyauktaung Village of Palaw Township, Tanintharyi Region, was departing from his home on his motorcycle headed towards a rubber farm located to the west of Kyauktaung Village. Upon reaching the vicinity of the rubber farm, three so-called PDF terrorists riding a motorcycle, opened fire on him before fleeing. As a result, U Maung Toat was dead from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Likewise, at 10:25 PM, a report stated that a male was dead by gunfire in Thayetkone Village of Kawa Township, Bago Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Bo Bo Myint (49 years old), a Village Administrator, who lived in this Village, had set out alone to purchase betel nut from U Min Naing’s betel nut shop in this village. Upon nearing the betel nut shop, a so-called PDF terrorist (under investigation) opened fire on him before fleeing. As a result, U Bo Bo Myint was dead from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Likewise, on 27 December at 07:30 AM, a report stated that a male was dead by gunfire in Shantaw Village of Madaya Township, Mandalay Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Kyaw Myaing (72 years old), a Village Administrator, who lived in this Village, was at home with his family when approximately 20 so-called PDF terrorists arrived and opened fire on him. As a result, U Kyaw Myaing was dead from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killings and assassinations of administrative officials and innocent civilians in the abovementioned cases. These acts stem from a radicalized ideology that deems anyone holding differing views as an enemy, it is reported.
