In some townships of States and Regions, armed terrorists, based on the one-sided ideology of extremism ‘Everyone who differs from my attitude is my enemy’, are committing violent attacks and assassinations by using knives, guns, grenades, home-made mines and IEDs against the public who do not support their terrorist acts after accusing them of “Spy/ Informer/ Decoy (Dalan)” to make civilians who live peacefully, very frightened.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 15 July at 11:20 PM, Ward Administrator U Thein Win, 52 years old, (Father) U Than Shwe, who lived in No. (2) Ward of Palaw Town, Tanintharyi Region, was present in his house with his family, when approximately 20 so-called PDF terrorists arrived on a motor boat along the Palaw creek and opened fire with small arms at his house. Later, the terrorists destroyed the house door and entered his house, while U Thein Win was hiding inside the house. Then, the terrorists forced U Thein Win’s family members to sit on the road in front of the house and robbed them of 22 ticals of gold wearing worth approximately MMK 660 lakhs. Moreover, the terrorists set fire to the house before leaving. When the terrorists arrived near the marina, they opened fire on Paing Paing, 19 years old, (Father) U Naw Ah, who lived in No. (2) Ward, and who was present at the location, resulting in the death of him from a gunshot wound on his head. As a result of the firing and burning of U Thein Win’s hosue, U Thein Win sustained a gunshot wound on his right leg. Furthermore, his two-story RC house, cash amounting to approximately MMK 680 lakhs kept in the house, four motorcycles, four laptops and household furniture (estimated value of about MMK 1747 lakhs) were burned and destroyed (a total value including gold items and the house, amount to about MMK 2407 lakhs), it is reported.
On 16 July at 11:20 AM, U Kyaw Thet, 32 years old (Father) U Shan Lay, U Phyo Wai (aka) Awgyi, 22 years old (Father) U Kyi Soe, U Kyaw Oo Lwin, 28 years old (Father) U Soe Naing and U Kyaw Ye Aung, 26 years old (Fahter) U Phoe Zaw, who all live in Kyaukgyi Township of Bago Region and were working as motorcycle taxi drivers, were returning to Kyaukgyi Town on their respective motorcycles along the Natthankwin-Penwegone Road after transporting passengers. While crossing the Paukmyaung Bridge near Naungkone Village, they were pushing their motorcycles when they came under fire from KNU/PDF terrorists. As a result, U Kyaw Thet and U Phyo Wai (aka) Awgyi were dead from gunshot injuries. Furthermore, U Kyaw Oo Lwin and U Kyaw Ye Aung sustained scratches and cut injuries. They both carried two dead bodies to the Kyaukgyi Township Public hospital for further examination, and received medical treatment themselves, it is reported.
Similarly, at 04:20 PM, according to the report that Pantawnge Village group Administrator U Kyaw Sint, 59 years old, (Father) U Bo Kar, who lived in Bagankone Village of Taungtwingyi Township, Magway Region, was killed on the dirt road of Taungtwingyi-Bagankone road located near the Village by the gunfire of terrorists (under scrutiny), security personnel went to the scene to inspect. The investigation found that U Kyaw Sint was found dead on the dirt road with two gunshot injuries to the occipital region of his head, and his body was transported to the Taungtwingyi Township Public hospital for further examination, it is reported.
Similarly, at 04:40 PM, U Zaw Win, 57 years old, (Father) U Hla Thaung, No. (3) Ward Administrator in Tharzi Township, Mandalay Region, was present in the “Thitsarmoe” teashop located on the roadside of the Tharzi-Taunggyi road, when two terrorists (under scrutiny) arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire on him before fleeing. As a result, U Zaw Win was dead from two gunshot injuries on his right temple and right rib at the scene, it is reported.
Security Force Members are continuing necessary actions to identify and arrest those terrorists who committed wantonly killings and assassinations against the civilians who live peacefully in the abovementioned cases based on the one-sided ideology of extremism ‘Everyone who differs from my attitude is my enemy’, it is reported.
