A terrorist died in an explosion while attempting to plant an explosive device, aiming to carry out an act of terrorism in Tachileik Township, Eastern Shan State.
The incident occurred on 17 March at 6:30 PM, a report stated that an explosion took place within the “Shanshae Tasaung” Private Education High School in Wainkyauk Ward, Tachileik Township. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was discovered that a man, approximately 25 years old, was found at the scene with shrapnel injuries. It was verified that he had attempted to plant an explosive device within the school compound. The device exploded during the installation process, resulting in his injuries from the shrapnel, it is reported.
Security personnel transported the injured individual, who had been attempting to plant an explosive device that could have caused injuries or death to innocent civilians in the incident described above, to Tachileik Township Public Hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital. The security personnel are currently investigating those involved in and responsible for, the acts of terrorism to ensure that effective legal action can be taken against them, it is reported.
