On 19 June, 2024, four Chinese nationals illegally residing in Myanmar were arrested in Tachileik Township, Eastern Shan State. They were found in illegal possession of weapons, ammunition, telecommunications equipment, drugs and wild animals, it is reported.
The incident occurred around 3:30 PM on June 19, 2024. Security personnel received a report stating that Chinese nationals were illegally staying in yard No. 064, owned by Daw Ei Lar Khan (d/o) U Eik Hon in Wun Kyauk Lon Village, Tachileik Township. When the collaborative team, including security personnel, inspected the site, they discovered four individuals illegally residing there: Mr. Xiao Hu (34 year old) (s/o) Mr. Wang Li from Xiangyang City, Anhui Province, Mr. Lao Yao (45 year old) (s/o) Mr. Lao Feng from Longyan City, Fujian Province, Mr. Lao Liu (34 year old) (s/o) Mr. Liu Xin Yong from Hengyang City, Hunan Province and Mr. A Feng (28 year old) (s/o) Mr. A Jing from Anxin City, Kaewzhou Province. They were apprehended along with illegal possessions, including weapons (an MK-12 auto machine rifle with a magazine and 10 rounds, an M-16 auto machine rifle with a magazine and 19 rounds, a CZ 512 auto machine rifle with a magazine and 91 rounds of .22, a GLOCK-19 pistol with a magazine and 8 rounds, and two Sig Sauer pistols with magazines and 21 rounds), telecommunication equipment (8 handheld devices), drugs (approximately 150 g of ketamine and a drug blender) and wild animals (one lion, one tiger and two bears).
Security personnel are continuing to take action against the four Chinese nationals who were arrested, as well as the owner of the yard, Daw Ei Lar Khan (d/o) U Eik Hon who allowed them to live there illegally, in accordance with existing laws, it is reported.
