In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by an extremist ideology of 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include civil service personnel, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being 'spies,' 'informants,' or 'decoys' to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 25 December at 06:45 PM, U Han Tun Aung (48 years old), a village clerk, who lived in Tapinkan (South) Village of Taungtha Township, Mandalay Region, was returning home alone on his motorcycle from his onion field located north of the village. As he neared the village, five so-called PDF terrorists (under investigation), were following him on two motorcycles, opened fire on him. They opened fire on him, resulting in gunshot injuries, and U Han Tun Aung lost his life during the incident, it is reported.
Likewise, at 09:45 PM, a report stated that a male with gunshot injuries had been admitted to the Public Hospital in Natmauk Town, Magway Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Kyaw Myint (45 years old), who lives in Sankone Village of Natmauk Township, had sustained two penetrating bullet wounds to his occiput. The incident was comfirmed to have occurred earlier that same day around 08:00 AM. U Kyaw Myint accompanied by his wife, were returning on a motorcycle from Sakhanma Village to Sankone Village. As they approached a ravine located between Bupintae Village and Sankone Village, two so-called PDF terrorists (under investigation), forcibly stopped their motorcycle. Subsequently, the terrorists opened fire on U Kyaw Myint, resulting in the aforementioned injuries, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killings and assassinations of civil service personnel and innocent civilian in the abovementioned cases. These acts stem from an extremist ideology that deems anyone holding differing views as an enemy, it is reported.
