In Thaton and Patheingyi Townships, political extremists, with the aim of hindering the opening of basic education schools, colleges, and universities and disrupting education, have issued threats of violence to impede the educational progress of future generations

The national government is committed to opening basic education schools, degree colleges, and universities to ensure that the future of the country's children, who represent the nation's future, isn't hindered in their education. However, the NUG and its affiliated extremist groups are conducting terrorist attacks. They are sending threatening letters to teachers and schools with the malicious intent of sabotaging educational opportunities for future generations. Their actions aim to create an uneducated society, generating fear and panic among students, teachers, and parents.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 11 December at 08:50 AM, an incident occurred at the Basic Education Middle School of Naungkalar Village in Thaton Township, Mon State. The acting headmistress was present at the school when an envelope addressed to her arrived. Upon opening it, the contents were chilling: 'From tomorrow, the school will be closed, and if not, the head teacher's safety cannot be guaranteed,' signed by the People's Defense Force (PDF). Shockingly, a 5.56 bullet round was found inside the envelope. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection, and confiscated the item. It's important to note that this school comprises 16 teachers dedicated to educating 690 students, it is reported.
Likewise, at 01:45 PM, a terrorist (under scrutiny) used phone number 09966648908 to send threatening text messages. The messages were directed to Daw Tin Nilar Win, Daw Htay Htay Myint, and Daw Thin Myat Nwe, who are teachers at Co-operative College (Mandalay) in Yankintaung Village, Patheingyi Township, Mandalay Region. The messages stated: 'Starting from 11 December, 2023, refrain from attending school or office. If you disregard this warning, expect to receive a 'gift' of bullets and an unfortunate incident orchestrated by the Thwaythauntnyinaung group’, it is reported.
Security personnel are investigating the above incidents to take punitive action against political extremist terrorists who threatened violence to induce panic among students, teachers, and parents, hindering school operations, as soonest in accordance with the law, it is reported.
