In regions and states, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 21 February at 1:30 PM, a destructive group consisting of KNU members who support terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists fired heavy weaponry toward Padaukkone Village of Yaedashe Township, Bago Region. One of the heavy weapon shells exploded within the village. As a result, Daw Chit Po (85 years old), who lived in the village, was killed by heavy weapon shrapnel. Additionally, Ma Phyu Lone (aka) Ma Thinzar Oo (35 years old), her daughter Ma Phyo Yadana Aye (four years old), and Ma Yi Win (49 years old), who all live in the village, suffered injuries from heavy weapon shrapnel and were transported to Nay Pyi Taw Hospital (1000 bedded) for medical treatment, it is reported.
Similarly, at 4:30 PM, a destructive group consisting of KNU members who support terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist fired heavy weaponry toward Sipine Village of Yaedashe Township. One of the heavy weapon shells exploded within the village, leading to tragic consequences. As a result, Daw Tin Tin Mu (35 years old), Ma Yadi Zaw (eight years old), and Ma Thazin Pwint (nine years old) who all lived in the village, tragically lost their lives due to heavy weapon shrapnel. Additionally, Ma Nwe Zin Aye (37 years old), Mg Wai Lin Tun (15 years old), and Ko Shine Htet Aung (20 years old) sustained injuries from heavy weapon shrapnel and were transported to Yaedashe Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are conducting an investigation into the incidents involving the heavy weapons attacks on the Villages, which resulted in the aforementioned fatalities and injuries. The aim of this investigation is to take punitive action against the terrorists involved. This action is in accordance with the law and is geared towards upholding stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
