In regions and states, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 13 February at 12:20 PM, a so-called PDF terrorists (the exact number is under investigation) fired 40mm mortars and small arms toward wards in Yaesagyo Township, Magway Region. One of the 40mm mortar shells exploded on the road in front of the Township General Administrative Department Office in No. (2) Ward. As a result, Daw Tin Tin Win (62 years old), who lives in No. (7) Ward, and Ma Yi Mon Tun (aka) Yi Mon Saung (20 years old), who lives in Paykone Village, who were present at the location at that time, sustained injuries from 40mm shell shrapnel and were transported to Yaesagyo Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are conducting an investigation into the incidents involving the heavy weapon and small arm attacks on the Wards, which resulted in the earlier mentioned. This action is in accordance with the law and is geared towards upholding stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
