In Yebyu Township, political extremists who oppose the opening of basic education schools, with the aim of preventing the education of future generations from being left behind, resort to conducting threats of violence

      The national government is opening Basic Education Schools on 1 June to ensure the full utilization of the right to education in order to prevent the education of the future generations from being left behind. With the aims to create an uneducated society following the loss of children’s rights to education as well as to intimidate students, teachers and parents, the NUG and its affiliated political extremist terrorists are resorting to threats of violence by distributing threatening letters and opposing the reopening of schools with nefarious intentions, it is found that.
      Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 14 June at 06:00 PM, security personnel went and cleared a threat letter, that aimed to undermine children’s rights to education, was packed in a plastic bag and hung on the door of a toilet at the Basic Education Middle School in Mayanchaung Village of Yebyu Township, Tanintharyi Region, it is reported.
      Security personnel are doing required investigations to find and apprehend those political extremist terrorists involved in the above incident with the aims to oppose schools opening as well as to intimidate students, teachers and parents, and to take legal action against them.
