Innocent Civilian Injured in Drone-Dropped Bomb Attack by KNU Member Supporting Terrorism and So-called PDF Terrorists in Phyu Township

     In States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 16 May, 2024 at 6:05 PM, a report stated that a woman with bomb blast injuries arrived at Phyu Township Public Hospital in Bago Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was Ma Thu Zar Win (14-year-old girl), a resident of Wal Gyi (South) Village in Phyu Township. While she was playing within the compound of the village’s monastery, a bomb dropped by KNU member who support terrorism and the so-called PDF terrorists using a drone, exploded. The explosion left Ma Thu Zar Win with bomb shrapnel injuries, it is reported.
     Security personnel are conducting an investigation into the incident involving the drone-dropped bomb attack, which resulted in the described previously injuries. The aim of this investigation is to take punitive action against the terrorists involved. This action is in accordance with the law and is geared towards upholding stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
