Extremist terrorists carry out acts of terrorism with the aim of harming peaceful citizens and administrative officials who are working to maintain law and order. In addition, they have been planting explosive devices in donations intended for charity organizations working to assist and rescue flood-affected people.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 30 September, 2024 at 12:10 PM, a report stated that an explosion occurred at the Ward Administrator’s Office in A-lat Chaung Ward, Kyimyindine Township of Yangon Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the explosion was caused by an explosive device planted inside a rice bag, which was among five rice bags and six noodle packages that had been donated to flood-affected citizens. As a result, U Aye Lwin (53 years old), U Tun Tun Win (43 years old), U Than Htike (54 years old), U Thein Tun (63 years old), U Zaw Zaw Aung (38 years old), U Tin Win (67 years old), Daw Chaw Su Khine (49 years old), Daw Win Mar Tun (42 years old) and Daw Ma Thae (46 years old), all residents of the ward who were present at the time of the incident, sustained shrapnel injuries. All injured individuals were transported to Yangon Public Hospital for medical treatment. Unfortunately, U Aye Lwin succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical treatment, it is reported.
Similarly, at 12:15 PM, a report stated that an explosion occurred at the Ward Administrator’s Office in Sat San Ward, Kyimyindine Township. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the explosion was caused by an explosive devise planted inside a noodle package, which was among two noodle packages and five rice bags donated to flood-affected citizens. As a result, U Aung Myint (73 years old), U Sein Than Htay (33 years old), U San Htoo (54 years old), U Than Swe Oo (52 years old) and Daw Moe Moe Than (46 years old), all residents of the ward, who were present at the time of the incident, sustained shrapnel injuries. All injured individuals were transported to Yangon Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incidents to take effective action in accordance with the law.
