In regions and states, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 23 July at 07:00 PM, according to the report that individuals with shrapnel injuries arrived at the Shwebo Township Public hospital in Sagaing Region, security personnel went to the scene to inspect. Upon inspection, it is found that U Zaw Thike, 41 years old (Father) U Kyi Hlaing, U Win Nyunt, 53 years old (Father) U Myaing Win, Ma Swe Swe Win, 30 years old (Father) U Phoe Pyar and Ma Khin Myo Chit, nine years old (Father) U San Yu, had sustained injuries from shrapnel. The incident was verified that, at 01:00 PM, all injured individuals were present in Ma Swe Swe Win’s house, when a mortar shell, fired by so-called PDF terrorists, landed and exploded in the house yard resulting in the injuries they sustained, it is reported.
Security personnel are investigating the incident to take punitive action against the terrorists who recklessly fired with a mortar towards a village, causing innocent civilians to sustain injuries, as soonest in accordance with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
