In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are civil servants, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informant or decoys.” This strategy is intended to instil fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 18 June, 2024 at 10:30 AM. Security personnel received a report stating that a woman was shot dead in Painnae Pin village, Taungoo Township of Bago Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, the victim was identified as Daw Zin Mar (34 years old), a resident of the village. It also found that around 10 KNU members who support terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists arrived on 17 June at 11:00 PM while the victim was at her house. The terrorists then abducted her and shot her dead near the Basic Education Primary School two furlongs to the west of her house. She was killed with gunshot injuries.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the death of an innocent civilian in the case mentioned above, it is reported.
