Armed insurgents, who support terrorism alongside so-called PDF terrorists, have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons, improvised rockets, improvised mortars and dropping bombs using drones into the public towns, wards and villages.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 20 July, 2024 at 5:40 PM, security personnel received a report of a man and woman with shrapnel injuries had arrived at Mandalay Public Hospital in Chanayetharzan Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital for further investigation, it was discovered that at 2:30 PM on the same day, U Aung Min (33 years old) and Ma Aye Aye Nyein (16 years old), both residents of Tha Yet Kine Village in Patheingyi Township, were herding cows in an upland field north of the village. At that time, a heavy weapon shell fired by a terrorist group exploded near them, resulting in their injuries, it is reported.
Similarly, at 6:55 PM, terrorist insurgents fired heavy weapons into Htee Kar Village in Nyaungshwe Township of Southern Shan State. The heavy weapon shells exploded within the village. As a result of these explosions, Ma Sandar Moe (27 years old), Ma Khin Win (22 years old), Ma Moe Htway (27 years old) and Mg Bone Pyae Maung (11 months old), all residents of the village, sustained shrapnel injuries. Due to the heinous acts of armed insurgents and terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, innocent civilians including children are killed and injured. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.
