Armed insurgents, who support terrorism alongside so-called PDF terrorists, have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets and dropping bombs using drones into the public towns, wards and villages.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on July 6, 2024 at 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM, armed insurgents who support terrorism alongside so-called PDF terrorists launched improvised rockets into Lashio Town, Northern Shan State. One of the improvised rocket shells exploded within the compound of the “Seitta Thukha” monastery in No. (7) Ward. Another shell exploded on the road in front of the “Jame Phaw Thu” restaurant in No. (5) Ward and yet another exploded on 24th Street in the same ward. As a result of these explosions, Ko Htaung Lun (23 Years Old) and a resident of No. (5) Ward, died on the spot. Additionally, three junior novices including Shin Ar-sarya (11 Years Old) from the monastery, sustained injuries from the shrapnel. Moreover, several residents of No. (5) Ward Ma Nan Tun Naung (eight years old) Mg Kaung San (14 Years Old), Daw Sein (73 Years Old), Ma Nan Aye Hon (38 Years Old), Daw Htway Yin (57 Years Old) and Daw Aye Khein (98 Years Old), along with residents of No. (10) Ward Ko Sai Lin Main (29 Years Old), Mg San Lin Phyo (18 Years Old), Ma Aye Lu (14 Years Old) and Ma Ton Sai Hlyan (38 Years Old), sustained injuries from the shrapnel. The deceased and injured individuals were transported to Lashio District Public Hospital for examination and medical treatment, it is reported.
Due to the heinous acts of armed insurgents and terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons, improvised rockets, and drone-dropped bombs within towns, wards, and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, innocent civilians including monks are killed and injured. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.
