Armed insurgents, who support terrorism alongside so-called PDF terrorists, have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets and dropping bombs using drones into the public towns, wards and villages.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 13 July, 2024 at between 11:30 AM and 2:50 PM, TNLA armed insurgent, along with so-called PDF terrorists, fired improvised rockets into Myoma Ward in Mogok Township, Mandalay Region. The improvised rocket shells exploded within the ward. As a result of these explosions, two residents’ houses burned and damaged. Moreover, a monk named U Mar Ni Ta (24 years old) and four years as monkhood at the “Ma Soe Yein” monastery, passed away from these shrapnel wounds, it is reported.
Similarly, 2:40 PM, security personnel received a report of a man and three women with shrapnel injuries had arrived at Mandalay Public Hospital in Maharaungmyae Township, Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital for further investigation, it was discovered that on 12 July at 7:00 PM, an insurgent terrorist group fired heavy weapons into Palate Kone Village in Madaya Township. The heavy weapon shells exploded within the village. As a result of these explosions, U Thein Ko Ko (32 years old), Daw Swe Swe Mon (49 years old) and Daw Swe Swe Win (43 years old), all residents of the village, sustained injuries from the shrapnel. Moreover, on 13 July at 1:00 PM, an insurgent terrorist group fired heavy weapons into Myaung Thit Village. The heavy weapon shells exploded within the village, resulting in injuries of Daw San San Htay (52 years old) and a resident of the village, it is reported.
Due to the heinous acts of armed insurgents and terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, innocent civilians are killed and injured. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.
