Innocent Civilians Injured in 40mm Launcher Attack on Village by Insurgents Committing Terrorist Activities

     Insurgents conducting terrorist activities have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets and dropping bombs using drones into the public towns, wards and villages.
     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 8 August, 2024 at 2:00 PM, a report stated that a man and two women with shrapnel had arrived at Myeik Township Public Hospital in Tanintharyi Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital for further investigation, it was discovered that the victims were U Lwin Aye (64 years old), Daw Kyu (61 years old) and Daw Hla Myint (73 years old), all residents of Mee Laung Chaung Village in Palaw Township. The incident occurred when a so-called PDF terrorist group fired with 40mm shells into the victims’ village. The shells exploded within the village, resulting in their injuries, it is reported. 
     Due to the heinous acts of armed insurgents and terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, innocent civilians are injured. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the Local residents, it is reported.
