In respective States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars and setting fire to residential houses in community areas of wards and villages where innocent civilians reside.
In committing such terrorist acts, around on 16 June, 2024 at 6:15 PM, so-called PDF terrorists carried out Drone Attacks Dropping Bombs into the Kangyikone village, Chaung-U Township of Sagaing Region. One of the Bombs fell and exploded onto the Nandaryarma Monastery of the village. As a result, a woman called Daw Lone (50 years old) and a girl called Ma Pa Pa (15 years old), residents of the village sustained explosion injuries.
Similarly, on the same day at 6:45 PM, so-called PDF terrorists carried out Drone Attacks Dropping Bombs into the Lay Ywar Sone village, Myingyan Township of Mandalay Region. A girl called Ma Yadanar Tun (18 years old), a resident of the village, sustained shrapnel injuries as a Bomb fell and exploded near the fence of her house. She was reportedly sent to Myinchan District Hospital for medical treatment.
Security personnel are conducting further investigations to take punitive action against the perpetrators of terrorists who conducted the heavy weapon attacks into the village, and also taking security measures to restore stability and peace in the area, it is reported.
