Insurgents committing terrorist activities have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets and dropping bombs using drones into the public towns, wards and villages.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 5 October, 2024 at 12:20 PM, a group of KNU members supporting terrorism, along with so-called PDF terrorists, conducted a drone attack by dropping bombs on Kyum Kone Village, Kyaikmaraw Township of Mon State. The bombs exploded within the village, resulting in injuries to three residents: Daw Mon Lay (40 years old), Ma Moe Myint San (11 years old) and Mg Hein Chit (three years old). All injured individuals were transported to Mawlamyine Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Due to the heinous acts of armed terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, innocent civilians are killed and injured. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.
