Innocent Civilians Injured in Drone-Dropped Bomb Attack by Terrorists

     In respective States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in the community areas of wards and village where innocent civilians reside.
     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on June 30, 2024 at 4:20 PM, security personnel received a report of two men and a woman with shrapnel injuries had arrived at the Township Public Hospital in Pinlaung Township, Southern Shan State. When security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital for further investigation, it was discovered that the victims were Ko Khun Tun Naing Oo, (33 years old) and a resident of Saung Pyaung (West) Village, U Kyaw Lwan (45 years old) and a resident of Saung Pyaung (North) Village and Daw Bay Dar (41 years old) and also a resident of Saung Pyaung (North) Village. The incident occurred when a terrorist group used a drone to drop bombs onto Saung Pyaung (West) Village in Pinlaung Township. One of the bombs exploded within the monastery of the village. At the time of the explosion, all victims were in the monastery, resulting in their shrapnel injuries, it is reported.
     Security personnel are conducting further investigations to take punitive action against the perpetrators of terrorists who conducted drone-dropped bomb attack on the village and also taking security measures to restore stability and peace in the area, it is reported.
