Innocent Civilians Injured in Heavy Weapon Attack by KIA Armed Insurgent and So-called PDF Terrorists

     In respective States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 11 June, 2024 at 12:15 PM, a group of KIA armed insurgents, along with so-called PDF terrorists, fired heavy weapon into No. (1) Ward, Waingmaw Township of Kachin State. A heavy weapon shell exploded on the roadside in front of the yard of Daw Aye Hlaing (65 years old), a resident of the ward. As a result, Daw Aye Hlaing died on the spot, it is reported.
     Similarly, at 7:00 PM, a group of KIA armed insurgents, along with so-called PDF terrorists, fired heavy weapon into Kywal Cho-Kabar Ni Village, Bhamo Township. A heavy weapon shell exploded within the village. As a result, Daw Khin Hlaing (54 years old), U Myint Kyaw (48 years old), and U Aung Kyaw Oo (54 years old), who all live in the village, sustained injuries from shrapnel and were transported to Bhamo Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
     Security personnel are conducting further investigations to take punitive action against the perpetrators of terrorists who conducted the heavy weapon attack into the village, and also taking security measures to restore stability and peace in the area, it is reported.
