Insurgents committing terrorist activities have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets and dropping bombs using drones into the public towns, wards and villages.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 11 August, 2024 at 5:15 PM, security personnel received a report stating that a woman with shrapnel injuries had arrived at Mandalay Public Hospital in Chanayetharzan Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital for further investigation, it was discovered that insurgents committing terrorist activities had fired heavy weapons into Lape Khya Village in Tabeikkyin Township. One of these shells exploded within the compound of the “Chan Thar Su Taung Pyae” Monastery in the village. As a result, Ma Ya Min Thwal (19 years old) of the village, who was present at the time of the incident, sustained shrapnel injuries, it is reported.
Due to the heinous acts of armed insurgents and terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, innocent civilians are injured. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.
