Innocent Civilians Injured in Heavy Weapon Attack on Village by terrorists

     Insurgents committing terrorist activities have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets and dropping bombs using drones into the public towns, wards and villages.
     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 16 November, 2024 at 8:30 PM, a so-called PDF terrorist group fired heavy weapons into Saw Wa Village, Dawei Township of Tanintharyi Region. The heavy weapon shells exploded within an orchard owned by U Phay Thein (68 years old), resident of the village. As a result, Mg Yan Zaw Pyae (18 years old), Mg Thet Aung Phyo (19 years old), Daw Htet Htet Phyo (30 years old), Ma Chit Moe Swe (19 years old) and Ma Zin Zin Khine (18 years old), all workers at the orchard, sustained shrapnel injuries and were transported to Dawei District Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
     Due to the heinous acts of armed terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, innocent civillians are killed and injured. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.
