In respective States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 30 May, 2024 at 12:50 PM, a group of KIA armed insurgents and the so-called PDF terrorists fired improvised rockets at Phoe Dewa Village, Bhamo Township, Kachin State. An improvised rocket shell exploded within the compound of the Branch Basic Education High School in the village. As a result, Ko Myo Min Aung (25 years old) and Ko Myo Min Lwin (23 years old) who both live in Han Tel Ward and were doing masonry work within the school compound at the time, sustained injuries from the shrapnel and were transported to Bhamo Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are conducting further investigations to take punitive action against the perpetrators of terrorists who conducted the improvised rockets attack that caused casualties of innocent civilians. They are also taking security measures to restore stability and peace in the area, it is reported.
