Innocent Civilians Injured, Two Teaching Buildings Damaged in Terrorist Heavy Weapon Attack on Villages

    Insurgents committing terrorist activities have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets, and dropping bombs using drones into the public towns, wards and villages.
    Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 8 September, 2024 at 10:00 AM, KNU members who support terrorism, along with so-called PDF terrorists fired heavy weapons into Kal Lin Seik Village in Yaedashe Township of Bago Region. The heavy weapon shells exploded within the compound of the Basic Education Middle School in the village. As a result of these explosions, the roofs, ceilings and window panes of two single-story reinforced concrete (RC) teaching buildings were damaged. Fortunately, no one was injured, it is reported. 
    Similarly, at 12:00 PM, KNU members who support terrorism, along with so-called PDF terrorists fired heavy weapons into Ywar Thar Yar Village in Yaedashe Township. The heavy weapon shells exploded within the village. As a result of these explosions, U Nyein Shwe (56 years old), Mg Lwan Wai Naung (12 years old) boy and Daw San Yi (67 years old), all residents of the village, sustained shrapnel injuries. They were transported to Swar Station Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported. 
    Due to the heinous acts of armed insurgents and terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards, and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, innocent civilians including monks are injured. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.
