Innocent Civilians Killed and Injured in Drone Bomb Attack on Village by Insurgents Committing Terrorists Activities

    Insurgents committing terrorist activities have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets and dropping bombs using drones into the public towns, wards and villages.
    Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 15 August, 2024 at 4:30 PM, when a group of KNU members who support terrorism, along with so-called PDF terrorists used a drone to drop bombs on Ye Tagun Village in Thanbyuzayat Township of Mon State. The bombs exploded within a rubber plantation near the village. As a result of the explosions, U Aung Myint (50 years old), who was at the incident at the time, died on the spot. Additionally, Daw Phyu Phyu Win (36 years old), Ko Naing Lin Wai (32 years old), Mg Wai Yan Shine (two years old), Ma Wut Hmon Zin (16 years old) and Ma May Myat Noe (13 years old), who were also at the incident, sustained shrapnel injuries. The injured individuals were transported to Thanbyuzayat Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported. 
    Due to the heinous acts of armed insurgents and terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, innocent civilians are injured. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.
