Innocent Civilians Killed and Injured in Improvised Mortar Attack on Ward by So-called PDF terrorists

    Insurgents committing terrorist activities have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets, and dropping bombs using drones into the public towns, wards and villages.
    Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 7 September, 2024 at 5:00 PM, so-called PDF terrorists fired improvised mortars into (Ga Nge) Ward, Yinmarpin Township of Sagaing Region. Two of the improvised mortar shells exploded within the compound of the “Zaw Ti Ka Yar Ma” Monastery in the ward. As a result of these explosions, U Myo Myint (34 years old), Daw Khin Lae Win (60 years old) and Daw Khin Hnin Aye( 30 years old), who were in the monastery compound at the time, sustained shrapnel injuries. The injured individuals were transported to Monywa Township Public Hospital for medical treatment. Unfortunately, U Myo Myint succumbed his injuries while being transported the hospital, it is reported. 
    Due to the heinous acts of armed insurgents and terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, innocent civilians are injured. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.
