In some townships across States and Regions, so-called PDF terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 7 September, 2024 at 9:50 AM, a report stated that a man shot dead in Lat Pan Village, Oaktwin Township of Bago Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was U Nyunt Win Khine (aka) Maung Khine (56 years old), a resident of the village. While the victim was at his house, three individuals from KNU members who support terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists, arrived and opened fire on him. As a result, the victim died on the spot, it is reported.
Similarly, at 2:00 PM, a report stated that a man was injured by gunfire in No.(3) Ward, Kyauk Myaung Town, Shwebo Township of Sagaing Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was U Lin Aung (41 years old), a resident of the ward. While the victim was on his farm, five so-called PDF terrorists arrived and opened fire on him. As a result, the victim sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to a local Military Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Likewise, on September 8 at 6:40 PM, a report stated that a man was shot dead and another was injured by gunfire near Lal Ma Village in Pwintphyu Township of Magway Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victims were U Min Yar Zar (39 years old) and Mg Khine Soe Kyaw (18 years old), both residents of the village. When the victims were heading to a solar factory approximately one mile north of the village on a motorcycle and arriving at a location approximately four furlongs north of the village, three so-called PDF terrorists who were awaiting them opened fire before fleeing. As a result, U Min Yar Zar died on the spot, while Mg Khine Soe Kyaw sustained gunshot wounds. The deceased and the injured man were transported to Mal Za Li Station Hospital for examination and medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killings and assassinations of innocent civilians in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
