In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 11 December 2024 at 1:50 PM, U Myint Than (63 years old), a 100-household elder and his son, Ko Hein Zaw Myint (aka) Phoe Thar (25 years old), both residents of Thin Baw Tin Village in Myingyan Township of Mandalay Region, were at their house when eight so-called PDF terrorists arriving by four motorcycles, opened fire on U Myint Than. As a result, U Myint Than died on the spot. Additionally, the terrorists abducted Ko Hein Zaw Myint (aka) Phoe Thar and took four motorcycles from the house, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killing and assassination of innocent civilian in the aforementioned case, it is reported.
