In some townships across States and Regions, so-called PDF terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 8 July, 2024 at 11:30 AM, a report stated that a man was shot dead between Kyun Hla Kone Village and Chaung Khwa (K) Village in Oakpho Township, Bago Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that U Chit Ko(48 years old) and his son Mg Phyo Aung Ko (17 years old) both residents of Kyun Hla Kone Village, were returning from Chaung Khwa (K) Village to Kyun Hla Kone Village. When they arrived between these villages, three so-called PDF terrorists arriving by a motorcycle opened fire on them before fleeing. As a result, U Chit Ko died on the spot, but Mg Phyo Aung Ko was not injured, it is reported.
Similarly, at 1:00 PM, a report stated that two women were shot in Yone Pin Village, Taungtha Township, Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victims were Daw Yin Nwet (47 years old) and her daughter Ma Phyo Phyo (aka) Ei Ei Phyo (28 years old) both residents of the village. While they were in their house, four so-called PDF terrorists arrived by two motorcycles and opened fire them accusing of being “Decoys”. As a result, they died on the spot, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killings and assassinations of innocent civilians in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
