In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are civil servants, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 2 August, 2024 at 11:00 AM, a report stated that a man had been killed by stabbing and gunfire in Kar Boe Village, Kambalu Township of Sagaing Region. When security personnel conducted a further investigation, they discovered that the victim was Ko Min Thiha Kyaw (20 years old), a resident of the village. The incident occurred on 1 August at 9:30 PM, while he was at his house, approximately 20 so-called PDF terrorists arrived at his house, stabbed and shot him. As a result, the victim died on the spot, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killing and assassination of an innocent civilian in the aforementioned case, it is reported.
