Innocent Civilians Recklessly Assassinated by So-called Terrorists

      In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 20 November 2024 at 8:50 AM, a report stated that a man was shot dead near Yin Tike Kwin Village in Thegon Township of Bago Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was U Htay Lwin (43 years old), a resident of the village. The investigation revealed that while the victim was at his house, four so-called PDF terrorists arriving by two motorcycles and abducted him. The terrorists then took him to a forest approximately six furlongs east of the village, where they shot him, resulting in his death on the spot, it is reported.
      Similarly, at 11:00 AM, a report stated that a man was shot dead in Wah Dat Kwin Village, Kyaikto Township of Mon State. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was U Chit Ko (37 years old), a resident of the village. The investigation revealed that while the victim was at his house, a group of KNU members who support terrorism, along with so-called PDF terrorists arrived and opened fire on him. As a result, the victim died on the spot, it is reported.
     Likewise, at 5:40 PM, a report stated that a man was injured by gunfire in No.7 Ward, Shwebo Township of Sagaing Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, they discovered that the victim was Ko Aung Pyae Phyo (24 years old), a resident of No.4 Ward. The investigation revealed that while the victim was at his grocery store in No. 7 Ward, a so-called PDF terrorist arriving by motorcycle, opened fire on him and then fled. As a result, the victim sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to Shwebo Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
     Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killings and assassinations of innocent civilians in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
