In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views 'anyone with differing views is an enemy' are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are civil servants, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of 'spies, informants or decoys'. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 19 May, 2024 at 8:10 AM, U Shung Htwal (53 years old), a resident of Han Tal Ward, Bhamo Township, Kachin State, was travelling in a white ALPHARD vehicle (License Plate No. 7I/XXXX) owned by the “Saydanar Moe” Social Assistance Association from Bhamo Town to Momauk Town. When the vehicle arrived near Si In Village, a group of KIA armed insurgents and the so-called PDF terrorists opened fire. Consequently, U Shung Htwal sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to Bhamo Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killing and assassination of civilian in the aforementioned case, it is reported.
