Innocent Civilians Recklessly Shot Dead by KNU Members Supporting Terrorism and So-called PDF Terrorists

     In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views 'anyone with differing views is an enemy' are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are civil servants, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys.” This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 9 June, 2024 at 2:25 PM, security personnel received a report that two men had been shot dead and another man and a woman were injured by gunfire in Pauk Kwal Village, Bilin Township, Mon State. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, they discovered that U Min Min Soe (41 years old), a resident of the village, was serving alms food offered to monks on the seventh day of his father demise at his house, five terrorists who are KNU members, along with so-called PDF terrorists, arrived by motor vehicle. Later, two of the terrorists disembarked from the vehicle and wantonly shot at the house before fleeing. As a result, U Zaw Myo (aka) Zaw Myo Win (53 years old), a resident of Kan Thar Yar Ward in Bilin Township, and U Yan Naing Lin (aka) Than Kwin (37 years old), a resident of Zote Thote Village, who were both in the house at the time of incident, died on the spot. Additionally, U Min Min Soe’s son, Mg Ye Htut Naung (13 years old) and Daw Zin Mar (30 years old), a resident of Zote Thote Village, who were also in the house, sustained gunshot injuries. The deceased and injured persons were transported to Bilin Township Public Hospital for examination and medical treatment, it is reported.
     Similarly, at 9:30 PM, security personnel received a report that a man was shot dead in Moe Taung Village, Ngazun Township, Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, they discovered that while U Aung Naing Win (38 years old), a resident of the village, was in his house, two so-called PDF terrorists opened fire on him. As a result, U Aung Naing Win died on the spot, it is reported.
     Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the injuries and the deaths of the innocent civilians in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
