In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are civil servants, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of ‘spies, informants or decoys’. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 20 May, 2024 at 9:20 AM, a report stated that three men and a woman were shot dead in Nwe Yone Village, Sinku Township, Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that while Ko Sai Kyaw Thu (20 years old) and his wife, Ma Thal Su (26 years old), both residents of the village, along with Ko Pyae Phyo Maung (aka) Nyi Htet ( 20 years old) and Mg Myo Zaw Aung (aka) Ga Tone (18 years old), both also residents of the village, were at Ko Sai Kyaw Thu’s house, three so-called PDF terrorists arrived by two motorcycles and opened fire on them. Consequently, they all died on the spot from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killings and assassinations of civilians in the aforementioned case, it is reported.
