Innocent civilians were injured and houses were burned in attacks involving drone-dropped bombs within the village, carried out by a group of KNU members who support terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists

In States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 19 April, 2024 at 6:35 PM, a group of KNU members who support terrorism, along with so-called PDF terrorists, used a drone to drop bombs in Autkhone Village, Phyu Township, Bago Region. The bombs exploded within the village, injuring U Thant Zin Oo (32 years old) and his son, Mg Kaung Khant (five years old), who both live in the village. They sustained injuries from the bomb shrapnel and were transported to Phyu Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Similarly, on 20 April at 1:45 PM, so-called PDF terrorists, used a drone to drop bombs in Kangyikone Village, Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region. The bombs exploded within the village, causing a fire that included the house of U Paytee (60 years old). Security personnel and local residents distinguished the fire, which was put out around 4:30 PM. As a result of the blaze, 24 houses were burned and destroyed. Fortunately, there were no injuries to people, it is reported.
Security personnel are conducting an investigation into the incident involving attacks with drone-dropped bombs, which resulted in the injuries and damages described previously. The aim of this investigation is to take punitive action against the terrorists involved. This action is in accordance with the law and is geared towards upholding stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
