In States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 3 April at 11:10 AM, a group of KIA armed insurgents and the so-called PDF terrorists fired heavy weapons at Manphar Village, Bhamo Township, Kachin State. One of the heavy weapon shells exploded near the village. As a result, Mg Htet Myat Aung (13 years old), Mg Zay Yar Moe (14 years old) and Mg Thet Naing Oo (16 years old), who all live in Manphar village and were passing near the incident site at the time, sustained injuries from the heavy weapon shell shrapnel. They were transported to the Bhamo Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Similarly, at 11:45 AM, a so-called PDF terrorists used a drone to deploy bombs on the Branch Basic Education High School in Wetpoat Village, Myaing Township, Magway Region. The bombs exploded within the school compound. As a result, Ma Zin Zin Zaw (19 years old), a resident of the village and present near the incident site at the time, sustained injuries from the bomb shrapnel. She is currently receiving medical treatment at a clinic in Wetpoat Village, it is reported.
Security personnel are conducting an investigation into the incident involving the drone-dropped bombs and heavy weapon attacks and resulted in the injuries described previously. The aim of this investigation is to take punitive action against the terrorists involved. This action is in accordance with the law and is geared towards upholding stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
