In States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 26 April, 2024 at 5:50 PM, a group of KNU members who support terrorism, along with so-called PDF terrorists, fired heavy weapons in Tawkywalinn Village, Kyauktaga Township, Bago Region. The shells exploded within the village, resulting in injuries from the shrapnel to U Aye Thaung (53 years old), Daw Khin Mar Cho (55 years old), U Kyaw Thu Htway (34 years old), U Yi Thin Thar (30 years old), and Mg Ye Htet (six years old), all residents of the village. They were transported to Tawkywalinn Circuit Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Likewise, on 27 April at 10:00 AM, a group of KNU members who support terrorism, in conjunction with so-called PDF terrorists, used a drone to drop bombs on No. (1) Ward, Oaktwin Township. The bombs detonated within the ward, injuring residents U Nay Lin Aung (36 years old) and Mg Phyo Zarni Maung (17 years old) shrapnel. Both were transported to Oaktwin Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are conducting an investigation into the incident involving attacks with heavy weapons and drone-dropped bombs, which resulted in the injuries described previously. The aim of this investigation is to take punitive action against the terrorists involved. This action is in accordance with the law and is geared towards upholding stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
