Extreme terrorists are causing injuries to both peaceful civilians and administrative authorities working to restore the rule of law. They provide financial assistance for and instigate destructive activities, including detonating explosives and firing small arms on public roads, railways, and at government offices, homes, and vehicles with passengers.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 4 April at 9:00 PM, a passenger vehicle (License Plate No. 3N-XXXX) operated by the “Aung Kyaw Moe” transportation line, travelling from Yangon to Ye Township and driven by U Zay Yar Lin (38 years old), with 48 passengers onboard, was attacked between mileposts 131/1 and 131/2 on the Yangon-Mawlamying Road near Shweyoungpya Village, Bilin Township, Mon State. The attackers, a group of KNU members who support terrorism, along with so-called PDF terrorists, detonated an explosive device and opened fire on the vehicle. The attacked resulted in significant damage to the vehicle and the death of U Zin Ko Lat (29 years old), from shrapnel injuries. Additionally, U Tun Tun (50 years old), Ko Zay Yar Tun (27 years old), and Ma Hnin Wai Zin (17 years old) were injured by shrapnel. The deceased and injured were transported to Thaton Township Public Hospital for examination and medical treatment, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident in order to be able to take effective action in accordance with the law.
