Innocent civilians were killed and injured when a group of KIA insurgents and the so-called PDF terrorists attacked wards and villages using heavy weapons, improvised rockets, and drone-dropped bombs

     In States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on the morning of 7 May, 2024 a group of KIA insurgents and the so-called PDF terrorists fired heavy weapons and improvised rockets at wards and villages within Bhamo Township, Kachin State. The shells from these heavy weapons and rockets exploded in the wards and villages. As a result, Daw Hlaing (50 years old), who lived in Shwe Khyee Nar Ward, was killed by shrapnel. Additionally, Daw Khyine Pant (59 years old), from Moe Phine Village, Daw Soe Soe Nwe (24 years old), Daw Yone (55 years old), Ma Phyu Phyu Wai (24 years old), U Phoe Ko (50 years old), and Daw Yin May (55 years old), all from Man Ywat Village; and U Kyaw Sein (69 years old) from Shwe Khyee Nar Ward, sustained injuries from shrapnel. The deceased and injured were transported to Bhamo Township Public Hospital for examination and medical treatment, it is reported.
     Similarly, at 6:00 PM, a so-called PDF terrorist group used a drone to drop bombs on Ma Gyi Pin Tal Village, Taungtha Township, Mandalay Region. One of the bombs exploded in the village resulting in the death of Daw Ei Ei (28 years old), an assistance primary teacher at the Branch Basic Education High School of the village, who was killed by shrapnel, it is reported.
     Security personnel are conducting an investigation into the incident involving attacks with heavy weapons, improvised rockets and drone-dropped bombs, which resulted in the described previously death and injuries. The aim of this investigation is to take punitive action against the terrorists involved. This action is in accordance with the law and is geared towards upholding stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
