Innocent civilians were shot and killed by so-called PDF terrorists

In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include civil services, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being ‘spies, informants or decoys’ to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 1 May, 2024 at 12:30 PM, a report stated that two women were injured by gunfire in Zaypine Ward Loikaw Township, Kayah State. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Ma Thein Thein Lwin (26 years old) and Ma Thazin Moe (18 years old), both residents of Dawthama Ward in Loikaw Township, were riding a motorcycle along Road No. (4). Upon reaching Zaypine Ward, they were shot at by a terrorist group, which then fled the area. As a result, both women sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to No. (7) Military Hospital (100-bedded) in Loikaw Town for medical treatment, it is reported.
Similarly, at 6:45 PM, a report stated that a man was shot dead in Nat Htar Village, Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Tun Tun Win (47 years old), who lived in No. (4) Ward in Myingyan Township, was travelling to Nat Htar Village. As he reached a road located east of the village, three so-called PDF terrorists arrived on two motorcycles and opened fire on him. As a result, U Tun Tun Win died from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killings and assassinations of innocent civilians in the abovementioned cases, it is reported.
